What better time to go on new adventures and relax with some good books than summer? No matter how old you are, reading improves with practice. The district’s suggested summer reading lists include a variety of reading levels and interests compiled by the schools and public librarians for students to enjoy this summer and throughout the next school year.
This year students will each set a summer reading goal and will keep track of what they read in the Summer Reading Student Brochure that will be provided to them before they leave for the summer. Students should be sure to bring their completed brochure with them when they start school again in August.
Reading truly is the key to success now and in the future.
Our hope as a school district is for each of our students to discover books or other reading materials that they truly enjoy!

Summer Reading at the Wallingford Public Library
Summer Reading is one of the major activities each year at the Wallingford Public Library. We know that it is essential for school children to spend time reading each summer to prevent reading loss between June and September. It is also important because summer offers time to explore the world and to choose unique topics that interest and delight us as individuals. Our goal is to make sure everyone finds what they need during the summer!
