Welcome to E. C. Stevens School
The E. C. Stevens School, named in 1961 to honor a local industrialist and school board member, is located in the southeast section of Wallingford. The children in Grades PreK-Grade 2 who attend Stevens live in the area bound by South Elm Street, East Center Street, South Airline Road, and Harrison Road. Many of these students are within walking distance of school.
The brick, one-story building is on spacious grounds, adjoining the Dag Hammarskjold Middle School and Lyman Hall High School campuses. It features two enclosed courtyard atriums that can be viewed from hallways and classrooms. Technology including iPads, Chromebooks, Smart Boards, and Touch Its are available for students to use. Computer lessons are taught in the school's computer lab.
An active PTO has raised funds to purchase new swings, classroom materials, and family night supplies. They also sponsor a field day, dances, book fairs, and a variety of cultural art programs. Additionally, many parents volunteer their time to help in school, or to work on projects at home.
