Here you will find information about the gifted and talented program in Wallingford, STEP. There is a description of the programs available at each level, a list of the teachers at the middle and high schools, information about participation, and a list of web resources.
Participation criteria are based upon academic achievement, standardized testing, and task commitment. For more information, contact your child's school.

STEP News
All student events for the Wallingford Public Schools will end no later and 8:00 PM tonight, 3/18/2013, in preparation of the impending snowstorm.
Starting 3/1/13, we will be implementing Single Sign On for the Parent Portal.
In the event of a weather related delay or cancellation, the CAPT testing schedule will be altered.
All Wallingford Public School events scheduled for Saturday, February 9th are cancelled.
Kindergarten registration will begin on Monday, January 14, 2013. Registration materials will be posted here on Tuesday, January 8, 2013.

Wallingford Public Schools Staff
Wallingford Schools will be open tomorrow, October 31 with the exception of Sheehan High School. Sheehan High School will not be open for students for the next two days because of damage to the roof caused by the storm.
Parents of ALL WPS Students
All Wallingford Schools with the exception of Sheehan High School will be open tomorrow, October 31, 2012. Only Sheehan High School will remain closed.
Bus forms requesting transportation to day care addresses and partner school forms must be sent to the Transportation department by JULY 1, 2012.
This is a FIRM DEADLINE.
Forms received by July 1st will be guaranteed a seat on the bus in the fall.
Forms received after this date cannot be guaranteed transportation for the first 2 weeks of school

WPS-TV, the public access educational television channel of the Wallingford Public Schools, now has a programming guide available on the Wallingford Public web site.
The last day of school for the Wallingford Public Schools is Tuesday, June 19, 2012.
SRBI is Scientific Research-based Intervention, an approach to teaching that we are using in Wallingford.
Connecticut joined 46 other states in the country and adopted the National Core Standards. The first standards to be implemented are in English/Language Arts and Math.
The Wallingford Intervention Services Program is presently accepting applications to screen children for its preschool classes for the 2012-2013 school year.

This special program will be held on Monday, March 26 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Sheehan High School Planetarium.
The Wallingford intergenerational Latino community came together to celebrate their rich heritage on a Friday evening.
Students in Wallingford's grade 3-5 schools are participating in a local "Invention Convention".
There is a 90 minute delayed opening today, February 24, 2012.
