The portal is an online application that provides access to teachers’ electronic grade books. It also provides information concerning bus routes, attendance, and school events.
To gain the most from the parent portal, please keep in mind the following:
- Visit the parent portal no more than once a week. Teachers update student assessment data on a weekly basis. (Assessment data may include class participation, homework, lab reports, projects, quizzes, and tests depending on the subject area.) Since teachers update their grade books on a weekly basis, do not anticipate changes if you visit the site more than once per week.
- Discuss your findings concerning what is happening in class with your son/daughter. Reviewing grades and/or assignments will reveal quickly where a student is struggling. For example, you should look for patterns in missed homework, poor quiz grades, etc.
- Contact teachers with any questions concerning individual grades. The best way to contact teachers is through their school email address, which can be found on the school website. (Please put your son’s/daughter’s name in the subject line of the email when communicating with teachers via email.)
Access to the portal, which can be found at http://powerschool.wallingford.k12.ct.us/public/, is password protected. Specific information concerning passwords and features of the portal can be found on the links given below.
