MATH CLASS RULES

Materials Needed For Class
- Covered textbooks at all times
- An assignment notebook or pad
- Notebook with any hand-outs, corrected assignments, tests, and quizzes neatly organized by date
- A sharpened number 2 pencil
- A pen
- Homework and/or any assignments due that day
General Rules
- All work must be shown to receive credit
- All work must be done in pencil
- Correct in pen, work in pencil
- Name, date, group, and assignment must be in the top left hand corner of all assignments
- Please have a positive attitude at all times
- Work needs to be neatly done to receive credit
- Please use proper language
- Please don't destroy anything that doesn't belong to you
- Please keep your hands to yourself
- Please don't write on the desks
- Please help keep the room clean
- Please throw out any garbage by/on your desk at the end of class
- No food, gum, drink or candy allowed in class
- Please get permission to use the bathroom, water fountain, or to go to your locker
- No Pass MEANS No Go
- Please raise your hand to be recognized before speaking
- No talking during fire drills
- Be considerate of others
- Please be quiet on the way to an assembly, specials, lunch, etc.
- Please act like mature eighth graders in and out of the classroom
- Please have a buddy system with at least two classmates so you can get missing assignments when you are absent from class (Note: All assignments are located on the web site and in the class notebooks in the back of the room.)
- Participate
- Encourage each other
- It's o.k. to laugh at Mr. Baker's artistic ability and at his bad jokes, but it is not o.k. to make fun of or laugh at anyone making a mistake
- Give 100% at all times
Classroom Procedures
- Please don't get lost on your way to class
- Wait quietly in the hall until given permission to enter the room
- Make sure you have all materials needed for class
- Please sharpen your pencil in morning homeroom or as soon as you enter the room before you find your seat
- Please find and sit in your assigned seat
- Check the front board to know the lesson of the day
- Take out materials needed for class
- Once you are prepared for class you may talk quietly until class begins
- Lesson of the day
- Check the back board at the end of the period and write your homework in your assignment notebook
- Have a great day!
Extra Help

Available most days by 7:20 a.m. and after school

Students riding any bus need to get a pass a day before to receive extra help in the morning

Available during Flex Blocks

On most test dates, a study group will be held on the morning of the test
