FREE 3D Summer STEM Challenge Scavenger Hunt
This summer students and families of all ages are invited to participate in a series of design challenges, like the aluminum foil boat challenge that PK-8 students participated in this May.
The weekly challenges will ask students and their families to dream, design, and do using the Wallingford 3D Learning model.
Materials and simple directions will be provided at each location on specific dates only.
Participants will be asked to complete the challenge using the given materials, measure their success (height, strength...), and keep an artifact to prove they have met the challenge, such as a picture of their structure next to a yardstick, or a video of the time it took for the structure to move.
You will need the artifact for the final 3D STEM Tech Trep Challenge on August 20 from 5-7pm at Toyota Presents the Oakdale Theater.
All of the challenges will be posted on tinyurl.com/wallingfordstem
Participants can join the STEM scavenger hunt by following these simple steps:
2. Register for a personal account with a username & password of your choice. (Parents, please set the account up for your family. Your family is a team.)
3. Search for and select the "3D STEM Challenge" game.
Challenges run from July 3 through August 20. Each challenge lists the location, dates, and times that you can participate. For example, the first challenge is at the YMCA from July 3-7. You can participate in one, some, or all of the challenges!
If you participate in the summer challenges, starting on July 9 at 100 South Turnpike Road from 9-3, you can come pick up a lawn sign for your yard to proudly declare that you are a Wallingford STEM Challenge Participant.
Have a great time!
