Dear Families of the Wallingford Public Schools Community,

On Thursday, January 29, 2026, the WPS Central Office team presented its proposed 2026-2027 Budget to the Board of Education. This proposal resulted from extensive discussions, research, and cost analysis, all aimed at ensuring that our students have every opportunity to succeed while maintaining fiscal responsibility.   

The Board of Education is now tasked with reviewing our efforts as it prepares a final budget proposal for presentation to the Wallingford Town Council in May.  To help guide its work, the Board of Education is seeking your input. All budget proposal documents are available on our website, and we are providing a Budget Fact Sheet outlining the primary components of this budget proposal.  If you have questions or suggestions regarding the 2026-2027 budget, please complete this Budget Feedback Survey by 9 a.m. on February 6, 2026.  

We also invite you to follow the budgetary process as it moves forward.  The Board of Education will hold in-person workshop sessions in the Board of Education Conference Room, 100 South Turnpike Road, Wallingford, on the following dates:

• Monday, February 2, 2026, at  6:00 p.m.
• Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
• Monday, February 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. (if needed)
• Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. (if needed)
