Latest Communication

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As our thoughts turn to vacations, beaches, and time with our friends and family,  I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a very safe, happy, and healthy summer vacation.

It has been a challenging year but one that we, as a WPS community, have by keeping our students first, and foremost, in all we do.

The joy seen on our students' faces during these last few weeks, whether at Field Days or during Spirit Weeks, was an indication of just how special and welcoming our learning environments are across all of our schools. We are truly a caring community that supports our students both academically and social-emotionally.

On behalf of all of us in the Wallingford Public Schools, I hope you enjoy your summer, and please know that we are already hard at work planning for the fall when we will welcome our students for what promises to be another exciting year of learning and growth.

Parent Choice Awards

As school comes to an end it is certainly a perfect time to reflect on the growth students have made during the year.  Such growth would not be possible without the many individuals supporting families and their students.  We would like to provide an opportunity for you to recognize educators, administrators, and any other members of the WPS family who have gone the extra mile to be the influence in making a difference in your child.  Through PTAC's Parent Choice Awards, you are invited to nominate someone who has embraced parents/guardians as partners in a welcoming environment.

Please see the letter from System-wide PTAC to nominate a member of the Wallingford Public Schools Family.

PowerSchool Parent Portal/Class Schedules

Just a reminder that the Parent Portal will be closing on June 30 and will not reopen until mid-August.  Parents, please download and print out any report cards that may be needed for summer programs, sports, insurance discounts, etc.  When the portal opens in August, parents may begin filling out the Demographic Update Forms. Once the forms are filled out and class assignments are finalized, student schedules will be available.

Comcast Xfinity Free/Low Cost Internet

Any families that have been receiving free internet services from the State of Connecticut through the Everybody Learns Initiative, this program will end on June 30.  Comcast should have already reached out in April or May to participating families to let you  know of options to continue, including participation in the Affordable Connectivity Plan:  The program provides up to $30 per month for households to offset the cost of Internet access. All cable carriers in our state have pledged to provide a high-speed option at this price point, effectively making the cost $0 per month for qualifying households. Student Chromebooks

The District has provided all 7th-grade students (next year's 8th graders) with a new Chromebook.  As a friendly reminder please ask your students to keep these Chromebooks in their protective cases, and refrain from writing on or placing stickers on the Chromebooks. These new Chromebooks will continue to be used by them through their senior year of high school.
