Attention Parents & Guardians and Care Givers!

Free and reduced meal applications for school year 2024-2025 are now available for parents to complete. It is beneficial for families to complete this application, as eligibility for free or reduced priced meals also may qualify students for discounts or fee waivers on the following school based programs: Field Trips, Sports and Athletics, Music, Additional Educational programming and testing.

To be eligible for the above, those that fill out the free and reduced meal application must also complete the Addendum A, for sharing info with other programs.

Please note that for school year 2024-2025 any student eligible for reduced priced meals will receive one breakfast and one lunch free of charge each school day.

Free and Reduced price lunch applications do not roll over from school year to school year, and need to be completed and submitted each new school year.

Time never runs out to apply for free and reduced lunch. You can apply anytime online. You can also download an application from our website, print it out, complete it in it and mail to the Food Service Department. New LINQ Connect Online Payment for Student Meal Accounts

This year will feature a new meal payment website, LINQ Connect. This new website has replaced and is an upgrade to the MyPaymentsPlus website that we have been using in the past. There is also a LiNQ Connect APP

Please note that all monetary balances for all student meal accounts have been transferred, and will be able to be used on the first day of school.

Within the LINQ Connect portal, you can set up one-time or recurring payments for your students’ meals, view previous transactions, set spending limits, transfer funds between students, set low-balance notifications, and more. It is an easy way to manage meal payments without the hassle of sending cash. There is a nominal fixed fee of $2.60 per credit card or electronic check transaction.

To Register:

Click on register on the upper right hand corner

Fill out the info and create a user name and password

Click on submit

Verify your Account:

Verify your account by clicking on the email verification link sent to your email address

Sign In:

Now you can sign in at https://linqconnect.com/DBDL9D using your email and password.

Once you sign in you can add students, add funds to the student accounts, remotely monitor accounts, set spending limits, and a host of other activities.

Eventually, in the coming year parents will be to view menus and nutritional info also.

Please be aware that parents will no longer have two separate accounts to deposit funds into for meals or snacks only. Instead parents will now have the apply daily spending limits on their child's account. It will be up to the parents to monitor the account and control the child's spending.

For those parents who are not comfortable making payments online or do not have a computer available to them, we also still accept physical payments:

For physical (check or cash) payments:

Please place all payments in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the student’s name, PIN number (If known), grade, teacher’s name, and the amount of money enclosed. At the elementary school level, the money is collected in the classroom and then sent down to the cafeteria each day. At the Middle School and High School levels, all payments can be given to the cafeteria staff. The money is then deposited into the student’s lunch account. If you do not want your student to use the funds to buy snacks, please indicate that on the envelope.

Please note that the POS system is not a credit card system, but works similar to a debit card system. The student will be considered to owe for meals if there is no money in his/her account, or they have no cash.

How to Monitor and Control Student Spending

Please be aware that parents will no longer have two separate accounts to deposit funds into for meals or snacks only. Instead, parents will now have the ability to apply daily spending limits on their child's account. It will be up to the parents to monitor the account and control the child's spending, as Funds in the student account can be used for both snacks and meals.

Here are the steps on the LINQ App to apply spending limits on the account:

1. Login to the account on the App

2. On the top left corner click on the three line icon ( hamburger kind of icon)

3. Click on meal accounts

4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select purchase limits option and set the amount you want to set for the account.

Please note that the main meal is not included in the spending limit amount. It only will work for the snacks and ala carte items that students buy besides the main meal. Please also note that the system will not allow you to put zero as a spending limit. If you do not want your students to buy snacks, just put in $.01 (One cent) in the spending limit.

Student Meal Account Refunds and Transfers

Meal Account Refunds or Transfers:

Parents of graduating seniors should be aware that they should be requesting a refund or transfer of funds of student meal accounts at the end of the school year.

To obtain a refund of meal account funds, please email the following information to jderosa1@wallingfordschools.org:

An email that specifically states you are requesting a refund for all school meal account funds
The name and birthdate of each student
The school the student attends
The address where a refund should be sent to
The name of the person to whom payment should be directed.

Also, if the automatic fund replenish has been activated on the account please be sure to deactivate it before you request a refund or transfer.

Parents now have the ability to transfer funds between siblings in student meal accounts online.
