Data Privacy
The Wallingford School District is committed to protecting the privacy of its students, faculty and staff. The district complies with State and Federal legislative regulations such as the new Act Concerning Student Data Privacy (PA:16-189) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). In response to the new law, CT PA 189 requires Boards of Education to enter into written contracts with consultants and operators (collectibly, "contractors") prior to providing contractors with, or allowing them access to student information, student records or student generated content. This law further requires boards to provide written notice of execution of such a contract and post such notice on the board’s website, along with the executed contract.

Student Technology
All students in Grades Preschool-12 have access to technology. Students are provided a new chromebook in grades 3 and 7 for instructional use. Students that take their Chromebooks home are responsible for charging the Chromebook and ensuring that it is ready for use in school learning each day. Chromebooks that are assigned to go home come with a school issued case. The purpose of the case is to protect the Chromebook, especially while the Chromebook is being transported. The Chromebook must be transported in the protective case at all times. No stickers or any other items should be attached to the Chromebook itself.
