Wallingford Public Schools is pleased to join other schools in the state as we test for and award the Seal of Biliteracy. In 2017, Connecticut became the 27th state to legislate the Seal. The Seal of Biliteracy is intended to recognize students that are literate and lingual in more than one language (with a proficiency at the intermediate-mid range). If you are a native speaker of a language other than English or if you have studied a second language for multiple years at the high school level, please consider testing for the Seal of Biliteracy!
The opportunity will be available to this year’s junior and senior classes on April 25, 2019. This is an early release day for students. Students should plan to be available for the test from 12-4pm.

If you are interested in testing for the Seal, please submit payment ($11 for Latin and $21 for other other languages) to Karen Kesilewski at MTS or Robin Shura at LHHS by April 22, 2019. Checks can be made payable to your student’s school. If a student plans to test in more than one language, please submit payment accordingly.
If a student is testing in a lower incidence language (not offered on the AAPPL listed below) and will be using the ALTA assessment, please reach out to Kim Moore to determine pricing.

WPS will be using the following tests to test for and award the Seal of Biliteracy:
AAPPL - Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Thai and ESL. ($21 per student)
