The Wallingford Public Schools Preschool lottery process is now closed for the 2024/2025 school year.

Wallingford Public Schools uses electronic registration for all new students entering Kindergarten through Grade 12.

Please click on the following link to begin the registration process. 

Registration is now open for the current school year and next school year 2024/2025 for all accepted Preschool Families and Kindergarten through Grade 12. If your child is already enrolled in Wallingford Public Schools Preschool, you do NOT need to register for Kindergarten. 

If your child has not been award a preschool spot via the lottery, please do not register them. The submission will not be approved. 

*Please note due to recent legistlative changes in the State of Connecticut, that a child is to be five years old on or before 9/1/24 in order to register for Kindergarten. If your child will be five on or before 9/1/24 you may use the link below. If your child will not be five until 9/2/24 or later, please use THIS LINK if you would like to have them screened for possible early admission to Kindergarten for the 24/25 school year. 

  New Student Registration

After beginning the online registration process, all families will need to provide the required documents listed below.  Our district offices are open to the public each day from 8:00-4:00, and we will accept in person documentation of age and residency verification.  If applicable, we will also have you sign a release of records to retrieve the student records from your prior district.

Registration Steps

Age Verification:  Long Form Birth Certificate, Passport

Residency Verification: Two Forms of Proof Of Residency:

The district accepts the following as proof of residency:

  • Current rental agreement (lease) showing parent(s) names or a notarized letter from your landlord with the dates of the lease and the parents' names.
  • Escrow papers, deed to home, current mortgage statement/bill, current title page to homeowner's insurance policy, current Town of Wallingford Home Property Tax statement 

          -in addition to-

  • Current utility bill - landline phone, electric, water/sewer, gas, cable

If you do not own or rent a home but are residing with a Wallingford resident, then the Wallingford Resident must provide the proof of residency listed above and return a notarized Affidavit of Residence (EnglishSpanish).

3. Release of Records:  If entering any grade higher than Kindergarten (Beginning with 1st Grade), a RELEASE OF RECORDS will be required in order to complete registration so that our offices can obtain copies of your child's educational records, etc. It is helpful to bring with you a copy of the most recent report card so our schools can begin the scheduling process while awaiting the official school records.   4.  Health Assessment Record & Immunizations:  All students entering the Wallingford Public School District will need to provide a copy of their most recent physical, including documentation of immunizations.  This information will be forwarded to the School Nurse for review before entry.  Parents can also fax or bring this information to the school directly.
