Parent Portal

The Parent Portal is an important element of Power School, our student management software program. The Parent Portal allows parents and their sons/daughters to access information regarding grades, attendance, school announcements, and student demographic information.

To gain the most from the parent portal, please keep in mind the following:

  • Teachers update student assessment data on a weekly basis. (Assessment data may include class participation, homework, lab reports, projects, quizzes, and tests depending on the subject area.) Since teachers update their grade books on a weekly basis, do not anticipate changes if you visit the site more than once per week.
  • Make the use of the Parent Portal a family activity. Have your son/daughter review his/her progress. Make this review a regular part of your discussions regarding what is happening in school. Reviewing grades and/or assignments will reveal quickly where a student is struggling. For example, you should look for patterns in missed homework, poor quiz grades, etc.
  • Encourage your son/daughter to meet with his/her teacher to discuss grading concerns. This is a wonderful opportunity to help build his/her self-advocacy skill.
  • If concerns about individual grades persist after your son/daughter has met with his/her teachers, please contact them about those concerns. The best way to contact teachers is through their school email address, which can be found on the school website. (Please put your son’s/daughter’s name in the subject line of the email when communicating with teachers via email.)

Access to the portal, which can be found at https://wallingford.powerschool.com, is password protected. Please visit the following links for more information on the Parent Portal:
