As part of our continuing Wallingford STEM town initiative, there will be several programs offered this summer in the area of STEM. Information to register is below.
STEM summer online class- middle school students- Register by June 12!
Middle School students can sign up to use online TechTrep software (techtrep.com) this summer to increase knowledge of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. To ensure student data is maintained with the highest level of security, TechTrep has signed a data privacy agreement with Wallingford Public Schools as required by the State of Connecticut (CT PA-189). There are three courses from which your child can choose one to access over the summer; Digital Media Editing and Graphic Design, Intro to Python, and Programming Foundations. This course is FREE and can be done on any PC or Mac device at home or at the Wallingford Public Library! Click here for more information about Tech Trep Summer! Camp Invention- K-6 students
Wallingford is hosting Camp Invention this summer. Students entering grades K-6 can build and test RC robots, complete fun hands-on challenges, or create superhero gadgets. This summer opportunity runs July 22-26 from 9am-3:30pm. The cost is $255 per student. It will be held at James H. Moran Middle School at 141 Hope Hill Road, Wallingford. Summer Learning- all levels
Students of all ages are invited to participate in Summer Science, Summer Math, Summer Reading, and Summer Physical Activity all summer long! Science, Math, and Physical Activities can be accessed through a free app called Goose Chase. To join the Summer STEM Challenge:

STEM Challenge Night is August 19 from 6-8pm at Toyota Presents the Oakdale Theater. There will be a math and a science challenge that night! Please bring your math passports (K-5 students) and be prepared to build a sail-powered car out of K’nex! We hope to see everyone there!

The Wallingford Public Board of Education has undertaken a study of the future of Wallingford’s middle and high schools. The Board is now looking for public input on the proposed alternatives. We are hoping all community members take a few minutes to complete the survey.
