STEP Connections Bulletin Board
The “Making Connections” bulletin board in the STEP classroom here at Dag has been busy lately with making connections between 6th, 7th, and 8th grade members. The objective is designed for students to step outside of their comfort zones and make friendships outside of their grade level within the STEP program. By using string and a piece of paper, students take the “risk” in meeting someone from a different age group. Students are also asked to write a message based on what they liked on their “wall”.
Friends of Rachel
The first meeting for Friends of Rachel will take place Wednesday, 10 September in Room A-3 after dismissal. We welcome new members to this club which promotes positivity, kindness and making our school a great place to be. ** Pick-up time is at 3:30.
A Yearbook Meeting will be held in room A-6 on Monday 9/29/14 until 3:30.
The Builders Club is back again this year and is open to all students in grade 6,7, and 8. It is a school based club that serves the community and builds character and fellowship. Students participate in projects such as Holiday for Giving for Wallingford, fund raisers for the Heart Association, fund raisers for local animal shelters, and other worthwhile causes. Dag’s Builders Club is affiliated with the Key Club at Lyman Hall High School. In elementary school it is K-kids. We will meet after school at least once per month for one hour (2:45 to 3:45). Again, all students are welcome to join.
INSPIRE Project 2013-14
The students in the INSPIRE program used the proceeds from their Coffee Cart to purchase and make cozy warm blankets. The students measured, cut, and tied these. Their hard work selling coffee, tea, and hot chocolate paid off!
